BANGUI, July 6 (Reuters) - A French U.N. security officer was killed in the Central African Republic's capital by attackers whose identity is unclear, diplomatic sources said on Friday.
The officer received a call for help late on Thursday and went to investigate and that was when he was killed, they said.
The name of the dead man had not yet been released.
Bangui has been tense and unstable since a failed coup attempt at the end of May that led to more than a week of fighting in the former French colony. Scores of people died.
