Clashes and reprisal attacks by armed groups on the IDP camp in Batangafo have triggered new widespread population displacement. Most parts of the IDP camp, which hosted more than 27 000 people, have reportedly been torched. Two schools (temporary learning space) and a religious building (presbytery) have also been burned down.
In view of the volatile security situation in Batangafo, humanitarian actors have temporarily halted their activities.
