Highlights

  • Following last month’s brutal killings of 16 civilians, including three MSF staff, at Boguila hospital, MSF reduced its activities in CAR and its related projects in neighbouring countries to emergency medical care for one week.

  • Transitional Head of State Ms. Catherine Samba-Panza condemned the Boguila attack.

  • PU-AMI condemned the killing of three people who were transporting humanitarian supplies from Bangui to Ndele on 30 April in a clearly marked vehicle.

  • The European Commission is providing an additional €6 million (US$ 8.3 million) to help CAR refugees in Cameroon and Chad.

  • UNICEF confirmed the presence of 53 children associated with anti-Balaka groups in Bangui’s PK10 neighbourhood.

  • In response to a measles outbreak, 44,300 children, aged between 6 and 59 months, and 394 displaced children, aged between 6 months and 14 years, were targeted in IDP sites in a measles-vaccination campaign in Carnot and Berberati.
