  • The humanitarian strategy and sectoral response plans discussed during the CAP 2013 mid-year review workshop held on 04 June 2013 in Bangui.

  • The CAR Humanitarian Coordinator participates in a joint United Nations mission to Zemio in the Haut-Mbomou Province (south-east). Local authorities request the rehabilitation of roads and access to potable water.

  • A joint UN/NGO mission to Birao in the Vakaga Province (north-east) revealed dire humanitarian needs. Inhabitants live in makeshift shelters and require assistance in: non-food items, water and sanitation, healthcare, food and planting seed.

  • Based on assessments carried out by the Food Security cluster, 62,000 people are in a situation of severe food insecurity following the recent crisis.
