African Republic (CAR), have led to the displacement of an estimated 20,000 people within the town. Following the escalation of violence, that adversely affected civilians and humanitarian access, the Protection Cluster in CAR issued an advocacy note calling for humanitarian access and to not target the civilian population. The Protection Cluster urged international forces in CAR to ensure the protection of civilians in order to prevent massive displacement.

Premiere Urgence-Aide Medicale Internationale (PU-AMI), UNHCR’s partner for site coordination and management at M’Poko IDP site located at the airport, shared with all humanitarian actors the results of a census carried out in the site between 14-25 July. It indicated that there are 21,650 people living at the site, the highest number in an IDP site in Bangui.
