2018 SECOND STANDARD ALLOCATION
The humanitarian situation in the Central African Republic continues to deteriorate further. 2.9 million people, more than half are children, are in need of assistance and protection. Of those, 1.6 million are in acute need. Over 64,2000 people are internally displaced.
Against a backdrop of increasing insecurity and access constraints in many parts of the country as well as funding shortfalls for the humanitarian response, the Humanitarian Coordinator has decided - after consultation with the Advisory Board of the CAR Humanitarian Fund -to allocate US $ 15 million for the second standard allocation of 2018. This allocation has provided financial resources to address the most critical and vital humanitarian needs, targeting in particular:
- (1) population movements and emergency response, and
- (2)the presence of acute vulnerabilities and major gaps in the humanitarian response.
