Situation Overview

The overall humanitarian situation remains dire in the country with grave human rights violations and the killing of victims civilians ongoing. More than 436, 000 people are displaced across the country, fearing violence and terrible human rights violations, including more than 43, 000 displaced people in Bangui alone. The humanitarian crisis is complicated by the fragile political situation and continued absence of basic services in some areas. Insecurity, acts of violence against aid workers and under funding are seriously hampering humanitarian operations at a time when the rainy system and hunger gap are set to start.
