Extreme violence committed by anti-Balaka and Seleka armed groups in Bangui and other localities, mainly in northwestern CAR, is affecting all communities. Hundreds of people continue to flee towards Chad while others seek refuge in the bush at night to avoid being killed. Insecurity, logistics and underfunding of the $551 Strategic Response Plan are hampering the delivery of food, seeds and planting tools to the most vulnerable who may not be able to plant during the upcoming rainy season in March. On 13 February, WFP started one of its most important air lift operations to provide food to 150,000 people for one month.
