A Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF) special allocation was launched by the Senior HC following the publication of the Multi-sectorial Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) results at the beginning of 2014. After the vetting and prioritization process, the Advisory Board recommended twelve projects for a total of US $5.0 million to the SHC for approval. The CHF funded projects, implemented by eleven international NGOs and one national NGO, cover the priorities as identified in the MIRA concluded in January 2014, and aiming to assist more than 700,000 affected people in conflict areas in and around Bangui and the northwestern region. The projects are currently ongoing.

On 17 March 2014, the SHC made avaiable $2 million to a Reserve to address immediate gaps in the ongoing humanitarian response.The first project that was cleared, submitted by the World Food Program, falls under the emergency telecommunication cluster and aims to revamp and to provide access to an estimated 35 NGOs and UN Agencies to telecommunication services.
