HUMANITARIAN OVERVIEW
People in the Far North continue to be severely affected by the floods. As of 19 September, 365,060 people were affected, including approximately 124,120 children. 56,084 houses were destroyed or damaged, 262 schools flooded, 65 health centres affected, and 82,509 ha of farmland flooded. After the rains, the rising river levels are causing concerns about a worsening situation in the coming days and weeks. Estimations suggest that 463,563 people will be affected by the floods in the Far North this year.
The Government, local authorities and elites, and a variety of humanitarian organizations are providing assistance to those affected.
