HUMANITARIAN OVERVIEW
People in the Far North continue to be severely affected by the floods. As of 11 November, 448,164 people (64,122 households) were affected, 84,000 people newly since 19 September. Over 98 per cent of those affected are in the Logone et Chari and Mayo-Danay divisions. Some 262 schools were flooded, 65 health centres affected, 56,084 houses damaged or destroyed, 5,510 heads of livestock lost, and 85,253 hectares of agricultural land flooded.
The Government, local authorities/elites, and a variety of humanitarian organizations are providing assistance to those affected.3 UNICEF is one of the major actors in the response.
