In 2025, armed conflict, violence, climate shocks, and disease outbreaks continue to drive humanitarian needs in Cameroon, with 3.3 million people in urgent need of assistance and protection services. The Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) aims to assist 2.1 million of the most vulnerable people and requires US$ 359.3 million in funding.
The situation in the Far North, North-West and South-West regions, along with the effects of the Central African Republic (CAR) refugee crisis in the eastern regions, continues to affect the lives of women, girls, men, and boys, including people with disabilities. New, multiple or prolonged displacements, combined with limited access to basic goods and essential services and insufficient resources, have worsened the well-being and living conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, refugees, and local communities in crisis-affected areas.
Since the beginning of the year, humanitarian assistance has reached almost 667,000 people in crisis-affected areas of Far North, North-West, South-West, and eastern regions. The sharp decrease from 1.5 million people reached in September 2024 to 667,000 in September 2025 is largely explained by the drop in funding (from 38 per cent in 2024 to only 17 per cent of requirements covered in 2025). This financial gap, combined with insecurity and access constraints, has directly limited partners’ ability to deliver assistance.
