Cameroon - Child Protection AoR: North West & South West Regions 5Ws Monthly Reach and Operational Presence: Operational Maps, March 2025

In March 2025, 27 AoR partners (14 in the SW, 16 in the NW; 3 partners reported from both regions) supported AoR activities and reached 19,704 persons (12,753 children and 6,951 adults), compared to February 2025 when they reached 21,962 persons, with a 10% reduction in people reached. Out of the 12,753 children reached, 93% (11,830) were reported from the South West and 7%(923) were reported from the North West. 61%(11,947) of the persons reached were females while 39% (7,757) were males. 93% of cluster projects/activities implemented were HNO/HRP projects, while 7% were Non-HNO/HRP projects.

A total of 19,704 persons benefited from mental health psychosocial support activities and including 12,753 (65%) children (5,116 boys and 7,637 girls). This included 6,951 (35%) adults and 438 (2%) persons with disabilities. Also, the identification and implementation of measures to prevent risks of violence, abuse and exploitation of children in humanitarian contexts reached 15,617 (79%) persons, with 6,559 (33%) being children. Here, 419 (2%) of the persons reached were PWDS. The 3rd top activity covered was the provision of support to issue birth certificates to humanitarian crisis-affected children, reaching 8,664 (44%) persons with key messages. This included 5,206 (26%) children and 3,458 (18%) adults.

A total of 609 (401 females and 208 males) Community-Based Child Protection Mechanisms received capacity strengthening in PSEA and related topics. A consultative meeting with CPAoR Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) was held on Civil Registration in the NWSW during which the CPAoR members discussed strategies to improve birth registration and ways to support the process. The CPAoR held another meeting in which they finalized the CPAoR's Action plan for child protection, finalized of the service mapping document, defined the MHPSS referral pathway, developed Child Protection Key Messages, and discussed some challenges in reporting 5W and adopted approaches to encourage partners' submissions.
