During the First Semester (January to June) 2025, 47 AoR partners implemented child protection activities in all 13 of the NWSW. These partners include HADY, AMEF, ASWEDO, AWA, BETA, BIHAPH, CAFEDO, CAMHELP, Caritas Bamenda, CARITAS Buea, Caritas Kumba, Caritas Mamfe, CASAF, CBCHS, CES, DRC, FGI, FIED, GCR, GHCO, GLOCIR, GWF Goodwill Foundation, H4BF, HEDECS, HOFEH, LAW Cameroon, MYP, NIHSED, NRC, OWED, PAIDWA, Plan International, QFF, RAGJ, REACH BACK, REVACAM, SENHOFA, SHUMAS, Street Child Cameroon (SCC), SUDAHSER, TeenAlive, YADEF, and ZEFA. Sixteen (16) donors supported CPAoR activities from January to June 2025, while 20 partners also self-funded some of their activities.
49% of the partners reported from the South West, and 51% reported from the North West. A total of 49 subdivisions were covered. The top 3 Divisions covered were Fako with 28% (25,347), Lebialem with 15% (13,504) and Mezam with 11% (9,9936). The 3 Divisions with the lowest reach were Boyo, Momo and Ndian.
A total of 85,578 (93%) persons (59% females, 41% males, including 71% children, 27% adults, 2% elderly and 3% adults and children with disabilities) were reached with mental health and psychosocial support. MHPSS services provided included: positive parenting, recreational activities for children, the establishment of birth certificates and awareness creation, implementation of GBV risk mitigation measures, and psychosocial counselling.
The AoR partners distributed birth certificates to 2,5653 persons, including 2,854 (97.4%) children, that is 1,379 (52%) girls, 1,205 (45%) boys and 69 (3%) adults. This was done by Caritas Bamenda, Caritas Kumba, NRC, TeenAlive Association and SUHDAHSER in Njinikom, Oku, Wum, Bamenda 2, Bamenda 3, Bafut, Bamenda 1, Babessi, Tiko, Buea, Bangem, Mamfe, Eyumodjock and Kumba 1 Subdivisions.
From January to June 2025, 47 AoR partners (23 in the SW, 24 in the NW) implemented AoR activities and reached 92,008 persons, including 64,798 (70%) children, 24,533(27%) adults and 2,677 elderly (3%). Out of the 64,798 children reached, 41% (37,304 ) were girls while 30% (27,494) were boys. 58% (53,781) of the persons overall reached were females, while 42% (38,277) were males. 79% of cluster projects/activities implemented were HNO/HRP projects, while 21% were Non-HNO/HRP projects. The trends graph shows a fall in the number of persons reported over time. However, this could be attributed to underreporting as well and the fact that the UNESCO-funded project came to an end in June 2025.
The top 3 activities implemented included the provision of mental health and psychosocial support to children and their caregivers and reached 85,578 (93%) persons 50,163 (59%) females, 35,415(41%) males, including 61,124 (71%) children, 22,805(27%) adults, 1,649(2%) elderly and 2,822(3%) adults and children with disabilities. This activity was reported by AMER, BIHAPH, CAFEDO, CAMHELP, Caritas Bamenda, Caritas Kumba, Caritas Mamfe, CASAF, CBCHS, CES, FIED, Foundation for Inclusive Education (FIED), Global Welfare Association, GLOCIR, H4BF, HEDECS, Mike Yang, NISED, OWED, QFF, REACH BACK, Revive Action Group, SHUMAS, TeenAlive Association, TeenAlive, and Zotah Eliza.
The second activity with the most reach was the identification and implementation of measures to prevent risks of violence, abuse and exploitation of children. It reached 71,072(77%) persons, comprising 41,680(59%) females, 29,292(41%) males, 30,936(43%) children (18,027 girls and 12,919 boys), 35,336 (50%) and 4,800(7%) elderly. 73% (51,774) of persons were reached in the SW and 27%(19,298) in the NW. The partners who implemented this activity included: ASWEDO, BETA, Caritas Bamenda, Caritas Kumba, CES, DRC, FGI, Foundation for Inclusive Education (FIED), GHCO, H4BF, LAW Cameroon, PAIDWA, REACH BACK, Revive Action Cameroon (REVACAM), TeenAlive, TeenAlive Association, YADEF.
The third most reached activity was the provision of support to issue birth certificates to humanitarian crisis-affected children, where 53,158 (58%) persons, comprising 30,734(58%) females and 22,424(42%) males. This support was provided through sensitizations and advocacy, reaching 50,505 (95%) while 2,653(5%) received birth certificates. From this, 1,416 females received birth certificates. his activity was implemented by CAFEDO, Caritas Bamenda, Caritas Kumba, FGI, FIED, GCR, NRC, SUDAHSER, and TeenAlive Association.
