The 2025 HRP for Cameroon aims to address the humanitarian needs of most vulnerable populations affected by disasters, in support of national institutions and community efforts.
The country is facing the humanitarian impact of three complex humanitarian crises: the Lake Chad basin conflict, the North-West and South-West crisis, and the influx of Central African Republic refugees. Violence, natural disasters, and epidemics continue to affect local populations’ well-being and living conditions.

In 2025, 3.3 million people in Cameroon need life-saving assistance and protection. Nearly 2.5 million people are in situation of acute food insecurity.
Humanitarian partners require US$359.3 million to provide humanitarian assistance and protection services to 2.1 million vulnerable women, girls, men, and boys in the most-affected areas, including targeting for response 560,00 IDPs, 338,000 refugees and host communities. Given global funding developments, further priorization efforts are ongoing within the HRP 2025 framework based on intersectoral needs severity and strategic objectives.

In 2025, the humanitarian community in Cameroon will continue to reinforce its delivery for affected people by further promoting and supporting localization, pursuing people-centred and accountable response, as well as enhancing the operationalization of the Nexus approach. Innovative solutions will also be explored to address the impact of natural disasters and contribute to more durable solutions for internal displacement.

The 2025 Humanitarian Response Plan is the result of a multisectoral consultative process to respond to the most urgent humanitarian needs. The humanitarian response will target interventions in education, food security, health, nutrition, protection, shelter and non-food items, and water and sanitation.
Resource mobilization efforts must be renewed. Increased, early and flexible funding of the humanitarian response plan is needed to save lives, improve the living conditions and resilience of affected populations and prevent further deterioration. The humanitarian community renews its collective commitment and engagement for an effective, principled, inclusive, and people-centred response, and to stand with people in need.
