APOPO is proud to announce it recently signed a MOU for 2016 with partner Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC).
APOPO Head of mine action Tekimiti Gilbert and Director General of CMAC, His Excellency Heng Ratana, met 11 February 2016 in Phnom Penh to sign the MOU. APOPO has partnered up with CMAC since 2012 and is supporting the organization's mechanical and manual capacity with its mine detection rats (MDR). APOPO will fund a CMAC demining and mechanical brush cutter team to integrate with the MDR team.
As part of an integrated capacity, the HeroRATs will significantly increase productivity and thus return much needed land back to mine affected communities more quickly.
APOPO is very grateful for the continuing support of CMAC and is looking forward to a year with great accomplishments.
