08 September, 2002 11:24 - During the last 24 hours, water level at stations between Chiang Saen and Pakse rose at rates from 6 cm to 9 cm, except at Luang Prabang, Vientiane, Nong Khai and Pakse receded. Meanwhile, water level at down part stations such as Phnom Penh and Prek Kdam rose as well, at other stations steadied an receded. Water level at Koh Khel is still higher than the alarm stage; at Tan Chau and Chau Doc, it has been exceeded flood stages since August 23. In coming days, water level at most stations is predicted to fluctuate slightly.
