05 September, 2002 12:01 - During the last 24 hours, water level at upper part stations between Chiang Saen and Pakse receded, except Vientiane, Nong Khai and Pakse rose. Meanwhile, water level at down part stations such as Stung Treng, Kratie and Prek Kdam rose, at other stations receded. Water level at Koh Khel is still higher than the alarm stage; at Tan Chau and Chau Doc, it has been exceeded flood stages since August 23. In coming days, water level at most stations is predicted to fluctuate slightly.
