UNHCR launches web portal for Côte d’Ivoire
18/07/2013, Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) UNHCR launched a web data portal designed to provide detailed information and regularly updated statistics from the agency and its operational partners in Côte d’Ivoire. The new site (http://data.unhcr.org/cotedivoire) is a comprehensive information portal based on UNHCR activities that are focused on bringing relief to its beneficiaries.
“This new web portal provides a platform through which UNHCR - Côte d’Ivoire can share information on several aspects of our work” said Mrs. Ann Encontre, UNHCR’s Representative in Abidjan. “Moreover, better and more information means better and more efficient coordination among aid agencies, to facilitate more effective delivery of international protection and assistance to persons who need help.”
The site provides an overview on Côte d’Ivoire as well as information on conditions in the Country and humanitarian activities in several regions. Resources include data on populations and population movements; maps, news and statistics.
Adapted to low-bandwidth environments, the site has easy-to-read data; graphics; access to a variety of current documents; and quick links to partner websites.
