Ivorian leader to address nation Friday-adviser

PARIS, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo will make a long-awaited address to the nation on Friday, an adviser to Gbagbo said on Thursday.
"The president will make a radio and television address to the nation on Friday evening at 2000 GMT," adviser Toussaint Alain told Reuters.

Gbagbo has yet to implement a Paris-brokered power-sharing deal aimed at halting a civil war which has killed thousands and forced over one million people from their homes in the world's top cocoa producer.

The deal, which critics say was imposed on Gbagbo by ex-colonial power France, has been denounced in government circles and sparked violent anti-French riots in the commercial capital Abidjan.
