The nutrition screening carried out in the province of Makamba shows a Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) rate of 7.3 percent. WFP in cooperation with partners is preparing to assist the affected people through a targeted supplementary feeding and a blanket supplementary feeding operation in the area.

WFP is preparing to carry out the second round of general food distributions (in Kirundo, Makamba and Bujumbura Mairie) and the first round of blanket supplementary feeding in Kirundo. The operations are planned early in August and around 2,000 mt of food will be distributed.
