This information reflects the response work done by the Burundi Red Cross. The Burundi Red Cross with the support of its partners of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent strictly operates in neutral, independent and impartial manner to meet the humanitarian needs.


The El Nino rain that hit Burundi on Friday 19 February 2016 caused, in some areas of the country, flood. The latter caused destruction of houses, crops, as well as death of small livestock. Therefore, Volunteers of Burundi Red Cross have been mobilized to carry out global needs assessment of damages. In this Situation Report, we are going to point out the current situation in the affected provinces, volunteers' action and draw a table of emergency needs.
