HIGHLIGHTS

  • 25,100 people in the North and Sahel regions gained access to safe drinking water. This action was done through emergency water trucking and the installation of six new water supply systems.
  • The involvement of community-based health workers (CBHWs) has been instrumental in sustaining essential health services, including routine immunization, home visits for newborns, and mothers in the six most crisis-affected regions. As a result, 18,688 children under 5 have received healthcare services against the three main diseases (malaria, diarrhea and pneumonia) and 3,544 newborns were visited at home by Community Based Health Workers, including 599 referred to the health facilities
  • 13,835 pregnant and lactating women (PLW) in host communities and IDP sites received counselling services as part of the Infant and Young Child Feeding in Emergencies (IYCF-E) for the first time.
  • 9,729 individuals (3,145 girls, 2,009 boys, 3,225 women) reached with awareness messages on GBV prevention and risk mitigation.
  • 2,557 children, including 1,305 girls, have gained access to early learning services in 10 community early learning centres (Bisongos) in crisis-affected communes of the East Region.
