Overview
The Regional Humanitarian Pooled Fund for West and Central Africa (RHPF WCA) was launched in June 2021, marking a significant step as OCHA's first regionally hosted Pooled Fund, managed by its Regional Office for West and Central Africa (ROWCA). As of December 2024, the RHPF WCA has successfully established funding envelopes in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, and has opened a new envelope to support efforts in Chad. This innovative funding mechanism offers unparalleled flexibility, empowering local, national, and international NGOs to address the most urgent humanitarian crises in the Sahel. By providing critical resources where they are needed most, the RHPF WCA plays a vital role in fostering resilience and ensuring timely responses to emergencies in the region.
