- Following violent attacks and intimidation by non-state armed actors, since November 88 schools have been abandoned by almost 11 000 children and more than 300 teachers in the provinces of Oudalan and Soum in the Sahel Region of Burkina Faso.
- A rapid response has been provided by international NGOs with the deployment of two psychologists to support teachers and children as well as the pre-positioning of school kits for when schools can re-open.
