The sultan of Oman gave USD 300 000 to Bulgaria for the recovery from the floods

The Sultan of Oman, Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, donated USD 300 000 to Bulgaria. The funds will be channelled into the recovery from the damages caused by floods in 2005 and 2006. The cheque was given to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Feim Chaushev by Adel Al-Razi, member of the board of the Omani investment fund and representative of the Sultan of Oman at the Ministry of National Economy. The ceremony held in the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was attended by the Omani consul honorary to Bulgaria, Prof. Stoyan Denchev, the Bulgarian consul honorary to Oman, Munir Ahmed Suleiman and Ahmed Al-Wahibi, CEO of the Oman Oil Company.

This is the second financial assistance granted by Oman to the country within less than a year. The sultanate donated EUR 318 253 for the reconstruction and renovation of the mosque in Shoumen, known as Tombul Mosque.
