9 September 2005

Deputy Prime Minister and Disaster Management Minister Emel Etem and Hungarian Ambassador Jeno Faller signed a donation protocol to aid the victims of the floods.

The relief granted by Hungary amounts to EUR 81 520 and consists of 10 portable generating sets, 300 waterproof overalls, 500 sleeping bags, 1000 camp beds and 1000 bedspreads, 2 tonnes disinfectants. The aid was received on 28 August and has been already distributed in the affected regions.

Deputy Prime Minister Emel Etem expressed her gratitude for the donation and added that the aid for the flood victims, as first gesture on the part of the new Hungarian Ambassador, is highly symbolic. Faller, for his part, pointed out that although it was hit by the disaster, his country is one of the first to offer assistance to Bulgaria.
