Bulgaria: Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg convenes tomorrow an emergency session on the floods

Tomorrow, 9 August, at 10 a.m., Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg convenes an emergency session of the Council of Ministers concerning the floods from the last few days. The Government spokesperson Dimiter Tsonev announced that within the session the respective ministers will report on the urgent reconstruction work to be done after the worst stage of the crisis is over. The cabinet will discuss and allocate extra funds for the recovery from the flood damages in the country. Possibilities to receive aid from the EU will also be on the agenda. An assessment of the work of the institutions will also be made at the session, Dimiter Tsonev added.

Over the last few days Prime Minister Simeon Saxe-Coburg has been constantly informed by the ministers and heads of the respective units on the scale of the disaster, the rescue operations, and the assistance lent to people in the affected regions.
