Japan: Donation from Brunei

In response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Government of Brunei Darussalam informed on April 4 that the Government will provide relief money of 1 million U.S. dollars (approximately 80 million yen).

From Brunei, letters of sympathy were sent from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, among others. The Honourable Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Honourable Pehin Dato Yahya, Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, the Honourable Pehin Col.(Rtd.) Dato Yasmin, Minister of Energy, and the Honourable Pehin Dato Isa, Speaker of Legislative Council left messages in a condolence book at the Embassy of Japan in Brunei.

The Government of Japan deeply appreciates a sense of solidarity expressed and assistance extended by the Government of Brunei and its people.
