Distribution of Solar Energy Equipment in the Warao A Janoko Community

On 11 October UNHCR conducted the distribution of 700 solar energy generation equipment, donated by partner company Schneider, to the Warao A Janoko community on the city of Cantá. A total of 23 families (93 people), were supported during this initiative. Each family received a solar home system, two medium-sized solar lanterns, and two small individual solar lanterns. Families received information on the proper use of the distributed equipment, including a practical demonstration with the installation of one of the solar systems. The second session addressed the importance of sustainability and renewable energy sources. This distribution is a significant step in supporting the Warao A Janoko community, which currently lacks full access to electricity, helping to bridge the energy gap, improving the community's quality of life and promoting the use of clean, sustainable energy solutions.
