UNHCR Engages Refugee-Led Organisations in 2025 Planning for Amazonas

On 17 January, UNHCR and partners—Associação Hermanitos, the International Education Institute of Brazil (IEB), and Instituto Mana—met with eight representatives of Refugee-Led Organisations in Manaus to discuss UNHCR’s 2025 programmes in the State of Amazonas.

The meeting emphasised the importance of participatory assessments and consultations conducted with forcibly displaced persons in 2024. UNHCR invited leaders to provide input and feedback on planned activities, fostering transparency and open dialogue. This engagement ensures that community voices are integral to programme planning, enhancing the effectiveness and relevance of UNHCR’s interventions.
