On 23 December 2024, the Brazilian Communication Agency (EBC per its acronym in Portuguese) reported on the severe impacts of heavy rains affecting the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. In Rio de Janeiro, a landslide triggered by the downpour injured 11 people. Meanwhile, in São Paulo, the torrential rains resulted in six fatalities, 12 injuries, and the displacement of 69 individuals. Dominican Republic

On 23 December 2024, the Dominican Rpublic Emergency Operations Center (COE per its acronym in Spanish), issued a yellow alert for six provinces—Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, María Trinidad Sánchez, and Samaná—due to heavy rainfall across the country. Additionally, media sources reported that 475 individuals have been relocated to safe areas, seven communities remain without communication, and 95 homes have been affected by the severe weather conditions.
