Brazil

On 6 April 2019, the Brazil Ministry of Regional Development, reported heavy rain and floods in Maranhão and Piauí States where more than 1,500 families were affected. In the state of Sao Paulo, media indicated, a state of emergency for the municipalities of Campinas, Hortolândia, Sumaré, and Monte Mor city, due to heavy rain over the weekend. In Mogi Guaçu Municipality, Sao Paulo State, several streets flooded and affected transportation networks. Colombia

On 7 April 2019, the Colombia National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD), declared an orange alert due to heavy rain for the capital city of Putumayo Department. Elsewhere, media reported, eight communities in Vigía del Fuerte Municipality, Antioquia Department, were left isolated due to an overflow of two rivers. Additionally, the following departments are at risk of landslides: Chocó, Risaralda, Caldas, Quindío, Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Cauca, Nariño, and Putumayo. Peru

On 7 April 2019, the Peru National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) indicted the following eight provinces in Huanuco Department are in a state of emergency due to heavy rain: Ambo, Dos de Mayo, Huacaybamba, Huanuco, Lauricocha, and Puerto Inca. To date, 2,371 people were affected, 469 people suffered injuries, 8 were wounded, and 11 deaths were reported. The complete report is available in Spanish at: COEN.
