Federal government recognizes emergency in 14 counties in six states

The measure allows cities to have access to support actions of the Ministry of Integration and other organs

The National Integration Ministry acknowledged on Friday (7), the emergency in 14 municipalities in the states of Amazonas, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Sergipe, São Paulo and Tocantins. With the measure, cities can count on benefits offered by the Federal Government. The Ordinance was published today in the Official Gazette (DOU).

Due to the drought, 12 cities were recognized: Iraquara, Our Lady of Deliverance, Potions and Santa Maria da Vitoria, Bahia; Divisa Alegre, Minas Novas, São João do Pacuí and Senator Modestino Gonçalves in Minas Gerais; Canutama, Envira and Guajará in Amazonas; and Arraias, Tocantins.

But the municipality of San Roque, in Sao Paulo, was recognized by the storm that hit the city. In Sergipe, Ribeirópolis had the emergency motivated by drought.

In addition to enabling the supply of treated water to the population, through the Operation Car-Pipa Federal - National Protection and Civil Defense Secretariat (Sedec) - recognition allows municipalities are entitled to other benefits such as the renegotiation of debts in the agricultural sector with Banco do Brazil. You can also get to purchase food baskets at the Ministry of Social Development and Agrarian and support of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) for the resumption of economic activity in the affected regions.
