UN vehicle attacked in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNMIBH) today denounced the bombing attack carried out against a UN vehicle in the town of Brcko over the weekend.
According to the Mission, an explosive device, planted underneath a UN vehicle parked near the residence of a member of the UN International Police Task Force (IPTF), was set off early Sunday morning shattering the vehicle's windscreen and several windows. The house was also damaged, but no one was injured in the explosion, UNMIBH said.

"UNMIBH strongly condemns this senseless act of violence," the Mission said in a statement released in Sarajevo. "IPTF has initiated a full investigation into this incident."

UNMIBH said experts from the SFOR international security force were working together with IPTF and the local Police Crime Investigation Unit to determine the type of explosive used.
