The United Nations Country Team in BiH has identified some $400,000 in financial assistance as an initial contribution to support BIH authorities and citizens to address humanitarian needs resulting from the unprecedented floods. In addition UN Agencies will contribute in kind assistance and supplies of food, pumps, warehousing and transport capabilities, humanitarian and school supplies and other materials.
Partners and donors are encouraged to contact the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in BIH to coordinate their assistance and contribute to ongoing efforts.
The UN is closely coordinating with national and entity authorities, civil defense and BIH military to ensure donations and support go to priority needs and address the plight of the most affected individuals.
If you are affected or know someone who is affected and has no access to a telephone or the Internet, please contact local civil defence centres by dialing 121.
They will forward your request through entity civil defence centres to the Disaster Management Centre of the Ministry of Security of BiH [+387 (0)33 492 778], which is the only one responsible for contact with the Ministry of Defence regarding the employment of resources of the Armed Forces of BiH.
