Highlights

Humanity Road wrapped up its activation to support severe flooding in Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Twenty six aid providers were identified and included in our report. Additionally, twenty two Member States offered assistance through the EU Civil Protection division of the European Commission.

The following report includes our 3W of aid agencies responding. The European Comission estimated that over 3 million people in both BiH and Serbia are directly or indirectly affected by the floods. In Serbia, more than 34 000 people have been evacuated from the affected areas. 2,260 buildings have been flooded and about 1 800 damaged. In Bosnia & Herzegovina the number evacuated exceed s 40 000 ; the situation is complex due to debris disposal, land remediation and displacement of minefields by the floods . Provision of clean water, health and sanitation is one of the main concerns. Across the region, key infrastructure , including bridges and roads as well as health and education al facilities , has been damaged in many affected areas.

Serbia requested assistance in terms of high capacity water pumps and teams operating them, boats and rescue helicopters, while Bosnia & Herzegovina requested helicopters and motor boa ts to evacuate people and to transport water, medicines and food. In addition, Bosnia & Herzegovina requested pumps, generators, tents, humidity dryers, water purification sets, gas heaters for tents and sanitation items. More information on their needs can be viewed on the EU Situation reports, Source: http://ec.europa.eu/echo/files/aid/countries/factsheets/serbia_floods_bih_en.pdf
