Islamic Relief Bosnia has already provided government first responders with a range of essential items for 905 vulnerable families.
Islamic Relief is assisting families affected by the worst floods to hit Bosnia and Herzegovina in over a century.
After three months’ worth of rain fell in just three days, the worst floods since records began 120 years ago swept across swathes of Bosnia and Serbia.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina – where Islamic Relief has worked for two decades – communities were cut off and tens of thousands of families were left without electricity or drinking water.
Homes have been demolished and vital infrastructure destroyed by landslides. Around 600 orphaned children sponsored by Islamic Relief are known to be in areas affected by the disaster.
At least 25 people are so far thought to have lost their lives, with the death toll expected to rise as the full extent of the devastation emerges.
Islamic Relief Bosnia has already provided government first responders with a range of essential items for 905 vulnerable families. These include 13,680 bottles of water, as well as heaters and clothing.
We continue to appeal for support for humanitarian efforts, which will also see affected families receiving food and power-generators as through our initial emergency response.
The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina urgently need your support. Please help us to deliver aid and assistance to more affected families: donate to our Bosnia Emergency Appeal today.
