United Nations Flash Appeal for Severe Drought in El Chaco Region, Bolivia

1. Following the declaration on 5 October 2004 by the Government of Bolivia of the drought-affected region of El Chaco as national disaster area, the United Nations Disaster Management Team under the leadership of the United Nations Resident Coordinator has prepared a Flash Appeal to respond to the urgent and immediate needs of approximately 55,000 of the most affected population.

2. The Appeal covers a period of seven months from 1 November 2004 to 31 May 2005, and its requirements are as follows:
