Highlights

  • HEAVY RAINS: Brazil and Argentina are experiencing flooding caused by rains and over flooding of rivers.

  • VOLCANIC ACTIVITY: About 3,385 people were evacuated from their homes as a result of the explosions from the Villarrica Volcano, in Chile. In Nicaragua, two explosions were registered from the San Cristobal Volcano.

  • CHIKUNGUNYA: Authorities declared state of emergency for the city of Esmeraldas due to the spread of the chikungunya virus.
