On 3 April 2019, the Bolivia Information Agency, declared a disaster zone for Cuevo Municipality, Santa Cruz Department due to an overflow of several creeks and the Parapeti river. More than 600 families were affected. The river also flooded several homes and severely affected agricultural communities; the Mayor of Cuevo predicted that agricultural production will only reach 20%. Media reported reported that Camiri and Charagua, with 5,000 families affected by floods, are the most affected communities of the Santa Cruz chaco area. Additionally, an overflow of the Sauces river in Monteagudo town, Chuquisaca Department, affected 800 families and homes.
