Since 14 October, road blockades in Bolivia are leading to shortages of fuel, products and soaring prices.
While the initial aim of the demonstrations was to prevent the possible arrest of former president Evo Morales, who is under investigation for allegedly abusing a minor during his time in office, his supporters are now protesting against the economic management of the government of President Luis Arce.
By 18 October, the transport sector had lost more than USD 8.6 million due to the protests, according to estimates by the economy ministry.
DG ECHO is monitoring the situation with its humanitarian partners.
