People continue to flee to northern Togo and Ghana due to insecurity and political instability in Burkina Faso and the Central Sahel.

More than 3.4 million refugees, internally displaced people and their hosts have been affected by devastating floods across Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Niger and Nigeria.

By the end of the 2021/2022 academic year, a total of 216,785 refugees were enrolled in pre-school through secondary education across the region.
