UPDATE REPORT ON NEMO ACTIVITIES
Members of the Cayo District Emergency Committee accompanied other officials to assess the flood situation at the entrance to San Jose Succotz and Benque Viejo Del Carmen.
At 6:30 this morning, that stretch of highway was again opened to vehicular traffic. However the road remains flooded with 6 inches of water at the entrance to San Jose Succotz and 12 inches at the entrance of Benque Viejo.
Today members of the Cayo District Emergency Committee went to assess the situation in Calla Creek and the road and bridge in Bullet Tree. The District Emergency Committee yesterday distributed food supplies and water to flood victims in the two areas.
This morning the coast guard vessel stationed in that area in the Cayo district, together with Committee members went to render assistance where possible to other flood victims in the Belize River Valley area, as far as More Tomorrow Village.
