Tornado kills five in Bangladesh

(Dhaka, March 5) Five people were killed and over 100 wounded as a tornado swept through six villages in Bangladesh, media reports said Sunday.
The tornado hit the southwestern Bagerhat district Saturday night, reported television channel Ntv.

Four people were killed due to house collapse and one person died following lightning in the six villages, swept by the one- and-half-minute tornado.

The channel said the tornado flattened hundreds of houses, trees and electric polls and damaged crops.

The injured people were rushed to different hospitals in the district.
