646,000 new arrivals are reported as of 7 December, according to IOM Needs and Population Monitoring (NPM) round 7. The increase in the number of refugees, is not as a result of a significant influx of refugees across the border, but instead due to strengthened assessments. The UNHCR Family Counting and the NPM Round 7 has evaluated the datasets and come to an agreement on the abovementioned figure. This figure takes into account both population evaluation exercises. The UNHCR Family Counting and NPM will continue to monitor the population and report on figures independently based on their individual methodology
