KEY FEATURES

♦ To build the capacity of 10M's outbreak and response team, vector-borne disease training was provided to over 40 Medical Officers to improve on early detection (surveillance).
♦ IOM and the International Centre for Climate Change & Development (ICCCAD) are currently conducting environmental monitoring activities in Ukhiya and Teknaf. The programme aims at identifying predicted and unanticipated changes to the environment due to the concentration of the refugee camps in the area, and thereby prevent further degradation and if possible restore environmental quality.
♦ The installation of 77 street lights has been completed. A total 131 additional locations were identified this week in Camps 9, 13 and 23.
♦ IOM Protection team is supporting the development of the Women's Income Generation Support (WINGS) livelihoods intervention project that will be implemented in Leda.
