Household Economy Analysis 2024

Attachments

The Household Economic Analysis (HEA) 2024 developed by Start Network Bangladesh in collaboration with Nirapad provides a vital baseline for cyclone contingency planning in the country’s vulnerable coastal regions. This report offers deep insights into the livelihoods, income patterns, and coping strategies of communities facing frequent climate shocks such as floods, storm surges, and cyclones.

By analysing economic conditions across different wealth groups, the HEA supports the design of more targeted and equitable anticipatory actions. The findings are based on a collaborative, data-driven approach involving a wide range of stakeholders, and contribute to a shared knowledge base for the humanitarian sector in Bangladesh. This resource is designed to strengthen early warning systems and ensure more efficient, locally relevant crisis responses—ultimately supporting resilience and protecting lives in the face of growing climate risks.
