Overview of Hazard Incidents in November 2020

In November 2020, four devastating hazards took place across Bangladesh i.e. Covid-19 pandemic, fire, boat capsize and riverbank erosion.

In November 2020, Covid-19 affected a total of 57,238 persons across the country among which 721 persons died and 56,466 persons recovered. From March 08, 2020 to November 30, 2020, the total number of Covid-19 patient is 464,932 among which 6,644 persons died and 380,711 persons recovered.

27 incidents of fire took place which killed 5 persons and injured 36 persons. However NDRCC reported 521 incidents throughout the country in which Dhaka division faced 187 incidents and Chattogram division faced 84 incidents of fire in November 2020. Riverbank erosion happened over 2 districts with 2 incidents which eroded 50 houses, collapsed 2 embankments, flooded 5 villages and eroded 100 acre cropland.

Boat capsize took place in 2 districts with 2 incidents in which 1 person was killed
