The Early Warnings for All (EW4All) initiative is a global collaboration aimed at strengthening early warning systems for natural hazards such as floods, storms, heatwaves, and tsunamis. In Bangladesh, the national roadmap for EW4All is being developed with input from key national agencies, providing a coordinated framework to expand and improve early warning coverage across the country. This report, published by Start Network in collaboration with Nirapad, assesses the status of Bangladesh's early warning systems for floods and tropical cyclones. The evaluation is aligned with the EW4All framework, a joint initiative led by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The overarching goal is to ensure universal access to life-saving early warnings by 2027.
